Aerial Sling/Hammock Workshops
Sling for Aerialists
As the popularity of circus arts and aerial yoga grow, more and more students are becoming interested in aerial sling/hammock, a single loop of fabric often thought of as a "beginner apparatus." While this fabric loop can be a fantastic way for new aerialists to get off the ground, there's no reason to stop there! This workshop is geared towards students who have experience with aerials but have not spent much time exploring the dynamics of single-point sling, or those who want to further their sling technique. We will move at a faster pace, learning poses, rolls, and drops.
Pre-requisites: experience with any aerial apparatus (fabric/silks, trapeze, lyra, rope, straps, etc), general strength/comfort inverting from the ground and working in the air.
Level: advanced beginner/intermediate
Aerial Sling: In the Loop
Take your practice further in this workshop that will focus on higher level skills and building sequences. We will work on dynamic drops and rolls, transitions between poses, and learn tools for developing your own choreography. This workshop is for experienced aerialists--a background in sling is recommended but not required.
Pre-requisites: Some sling experience strongly suggested. Participants must have experience on some aerial apparatus (trapeze, fabric, rope, etc) and should be comfortable inverting in the air.
Level: intermediate
Aerial Sling: Twist and Shout!
Take your sling practice to the next level in this workshop that will focus on twisty transitions and squirrelly sequences. We will focus on smoothing out choreography and working on flow. We will also explore dynamic movement with beats and drops. This is a workshop for experienced aerialists--some sling experience is strongly suggested.
Pre-requisites: Some sling experience, or a strong background on another apparatus (fabric, trapeze, rope, lyra), and the ability to invert consistently with good form in the air.

Fabric/Silks Workshops
Splits Galore
There are so many more ways to show off your awesome split than the classic double foot locks! This workshop will have you splitting upside down, sideways, and backwards, and we will explore ways to add split variations into other poses. We will also learn ways to strengthen and stretch your splits on the ground and in the air. You do not need flat splits to attend this workshop, but you should be comfortable working in your splits and straddle, wherever they are for you.
Pre-requisites: Students should be comfortable tying double foot locks, inverting in the air, and getting into a hip key.
Level: advanced beginner/intermediate
Creative Climbs and Dramatic Descents
Instantly amp up your fabric performance by incorporating new climbs and descents into your aerial vocabulary! Not only is climbing a great way to condition your body, it will also work your brain (hello, opposite side!) and get your creative gears turning as we find opportunities within each climb to make the movements your own.
Pre-requisites: Ability to consistently invert in the air and do windmill hip keys.
Level: intermediate
Just Dive In!
There are many families of drops on a vertical apparatus, including sideways rotation (think star drops), slack drops, and my personal favorite: Dives! In this workshop geared towards more advanced fabric students, we will explore all manner of forward and backward rotating drops, learn techniques to control momentum, and get creative with choreography in and out of the wraps.
Pre-requisites: Clean star drop, salto (opposite side dive), and windmill hip key, and consistent inversions in the air.
